  • oem or aftermarket??

ok so ibought a jdm b16a last summer, but never used it. i was told that it was pretty done up...it has crower springs and retainers and skunk2 gears. my question is cuz i was told that it had skunk2 cams in it but im not sure cuz i dont see any castings or stamping on the cams itself to determine if they are oem or skunk2...anyone know how i can tell??

This ain't honda-tech, we will post technical stuff in here as people ask.

To identify skunk2 cams, look for markings in between the lobes or etched on the ends. Some numbers to look for on a B-Series engines:
        Stage 1 HO1in HO1ex
        Stage 2 HO8in HO8ex
        Turbo 1 T1in T1ex
        Turbo 2 T2in T2ex

            results

ok checked them out last night and i didnt see any of those markings on the cams. i noticed that one of the cams has a L in the center in between a journal and a lobe and the other one had a V. Anyone know whether these are aftermarket or not?

Stock Cams will have imprinted rings on the cam outer ring, on the distributer/VTEC solenoid side. Check this post for pictures. http://www.jdmuniverse.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77400
If your cams have the imprint rings, then they are OEM.
