My Tach Or Speedo Won't Work

Yea so I traded my coupe for a 92 GSR.Its a GSR but it has an ls in it. So when I got it the previous owner said that the tach or speedo hadent work, but the gas and temperature gauges worked. Witch is true everything works on the dash board excect the tach and speedo. Well I was checking it yesterday and everything looks alright but I can't find the speedo thing that goes pluged into the tranny. So I was wondering if any of u guys might know what's wrong with it plz help. I realy need the speedo and the tach. Because I like to go fast and I realy don't feel like getting speeding tickets. Alright any help will be great.

my bude just go buy a odo cable n ur good it goes into the cluster in threw the firewall down to the tranny. then all u gotta do is push it in n clip it in place..

It's usually under the intake tube on top of the far back of tranny near crossmember.Its got two small power steering tubes looped from it to lines on the crossmember.You get the 2 10mm bolts to get sensor off ,then 1 10mm and the two lines to get the whole assembly out.

Also it's gonna be tight because it is sealed so u gonna have to pull it back and forth and play wit it.Good luck with that.

vss wouldnt explain why his tach isnt working...check diztributor wiring to see if theres a corroded or shorted out cable for the tach also check for power and resistance to the ignition control module.

I dont think DB1/2's and DA's have VSS's. They have a speedo cable. Most likely its broken, there like 30 new from acura. Other than that, mabye your speeometer guage is broken.

And id invest in a cheap multimeter and do what 19integra91 said. Check the distributer ICM for resistance and power.

i had the same problem...like the other guy said check if your speedo cable is all the way in, check the wires on your distributor and there is also a fuse that is for the guages to cuz i took one out yesterday to use on another one and my guages didnt work so try that..if none of that works hit up a junk yard and get new guages i think they want like 40

Look its real easy...depending on the year of the LS it could be a cable or sensor...if its the cable just head down to auto zone and pick it cant be more than 40 bucks...just make sure the one thats in their is pushed all the way in and the clip in on too...if its the sensor it should be and the back side towards the firewall it has two screws holdin it down and the sensor you could pik it up at the same place..but i think its a cable for sure...but check it first...leme knoe how it goes

Auto-zone / Advance Auto doesnt carry speometer cables for integras.. You have to go to an acura dealership for it. Its like 30 or 35 bucks.. I just put one in my DB2 teg, i went to auto-zone and they told me they didnt carry any so i had to order one from acura..
