today i did a oil change (royal Purple) everything went as planned besides that stubborn ass filter ,when i started the car it was good but then i look at my dash and my check engine light came on. it doesn't run or idle any different what could cause this????

only thing i could think of is if ur O2 sensor is in ur header right under the filter and oil dripped onto it. And even that i dunno if that would fuck it up. try reseting your battery and see if that works.Money ain't a thing! Crew Member #1

Yea, disconnect the battery and bypass the entire technical aspect of the actual MIL.. that's smart.
How about you figure out what it is, do some research to determine if it's serious... then clear the code by disconnecting the battery. Don't be lazy. It would probably take less time to figure out the code with the paperclip than doing what you plan.
then again some people can't count...
