  • cams...

    just want to know what type or cams somebody would put in to some how improve performace over the stock cams in a type-r. any help would be appriciated thanks

    ehh they have a lot of brands out there. I like Skunk2 the best from what i've had experience with but everyone will have their own opinion.

          Is it a oem itr head? dual valve springs on intake n exhaust side? or just itr cams in a b16 head now?

              skunk 2 stage two are tha weapon of choice but u can also look at tha buddy club spec 4 they are good cams also

                  yes tha stock itr valvetrain is pretty strong those cams arnt that aggresive but they give u a better power band than stock itr cams

                    i wouldnt put the spec4's in with stock anything thats asking to break. I have spec 3 buddy clubs and i would even use those on a stock valve train. Possibly the skunk 2 stage2's if your not beating the shit out of it, the bigger the lobe on the cam the more strain and stretch on your STOCK valvetrain. ill buy the itr cams off u if u deside on any cams pm anytime man.

                      ok..u will have to upgrade the retainer cuz the stock ones will FAIL they split
                      in half with big cams ..BUDDY CLUB 3+ OR THE 4 skunk cams tend to break and u will need to upgrage timing belt also...G/L

                        x2 cept still rockin oem timing belt with 3hund plus wheel i would say since your already half there u may as well change the tbelt g/l

                          if you want to keep your motor stock, just got with the skunk2 tuner series, even block Bs. all the other ones will require you to bump your C/R cuz your motor is going to bleed out a lot of compression.
