  • b18c with b18b crank?

b18c with b18b crank? would like more info on this crank swap i know the stroke is increased to 89mm from a factory 87.20mm. Can i just bolt it on my b18c as if it was the original crank or do i have to send it to machine shop?
    Anyone done this b4 lmk.

You have to run LS rods as well. Stock or aftermarket but you gotta make sure they are for a LS application.

also oil squirters have to be removed or bent to clear the crank.id say get forged internals ditch the squirtes and have a someone reputable do the work

there's a thread on h-t about it..i think I saw someone put down about 215 or 220 is...81mm bore. I have to find it but its in there allmotor forum. it wa s compared to a lsv without the doing the conversion kit and still retaining the block girdle

this is EXACTLY the same as an LS/V, but you don't have to run all them oil lines and relocate dwell pins and shit.. all the rotation assembly is LS, so you need LS bearings, all Main bearings are the same. I go with B16 rod bearings if using OEM, if you are using aftermarket rod bearings it don't matter.. LS and B16 are both 19mm

yea i know ls and b16 rod bearings are the same... i need to know if i can mang the ls rods to fit gsr bearings cus gsr's hold more rpm's. and what can i do about the internals and oil squirter issue?

GSRs are 17.5mm wide, thats 2mm less than the ones meant to fit that rod.. you could get your machine shop to do it, just ask them if they done it cuz they be messing up on that, or you could just get ACL bearings they are only 30Something at E.S.T motorsports. Too much trouble to replace a bi-metal(b16) for a tri-metal(gsr). i would understand if there wasn't that many parts for these engines, but we got tons and cheap, just go ACL

you have to buy a block off kit or have them bent but trust me the squirters get in the way.....

goldent eagle sells a oil squirter plug kit and you sould still use aftermarket rods are at the least apr rod bolts. that is the whole prob with the LS/vtec set up the rod bolts cant handle the stress of the rpms. it wont make it any different in a vtec block still will strech and blow.
                          RIP Nick
