head check?

how can u tell if a head is good w/ out bringin it to a shopl.. i saw a machinist soak the inside of the valves w/ wd 40 to check 4 leaks ne otha wayz??

i think it really depends what you are looking to get checked.. valves ,warping,ect.. the best thing to do though is to take it to a shop its not expensive . the guy who does all my head work charged my friend like $30 to get his ls head all checked over. but really you should get it checked by a shop . it would really suck if you assemble the whole motor and find out the head has problems

is the head on a car? if so just leak down est it or compression test it, very simple, if its off you can turn the lights off and puta flash light in the intake and exhaust ports and look for light therew the valves. but the bst way is to have a shop do it.

i dont think itll matter i'm thinking the way this kid says he drives and ************ plus i don't c y he'd wana trade a head 4 a set of rims idk jus don't trust alotta ppl is there a diff. in horsepower 4 a 91 ls head nd a 93 ls head ???

there is a 10hp difference.. i dunno if its nething they did in the head..

i thought it was just the b1 that had the 10 more horse i figured it would b w/ the computer not the actual head
