Yea that trick works mint! But if your putting the a obd2 motor into a eg honestly i'd just buy a chipped obd1 eco or a stock obd1 p72. It's easier than buying the jumper herness, doing the trick and all that bs. make it plug n play!

yea i think that p72 isnt gonna work for him cuz he's puttin a b18cr so he basicly detuning tha engine and the ing timing will be off tyring to run that 11.6:1 cp also the iab will have to be disabled obviously u kno all of wat i just said that's for the threadstarter lol

Oh he's doing an itr? Then just chip a computer and get it tuned. Your OBD2 ecu isn't chippable btw. Now that I think about it I don't think jdm motors have the crank sensor. So he wouldn't have to worry about that anyways.
