So about a month ago i bought a DA. Everything was fine until my ball joint gave one night and left me assed out to wait for a tow truck, it landed on the rim scraping small amounts of alloy(I mean small) off the inside of the rim. I was able to rig the balljoint with a regular nut, non-castle & makeshift cotter pin. Its my only ride so i had to get to the parts store. At this point it drove fine still. I was doing like 5mph the 1st time it gave out. So i went, P/U the balljoint and started heading back. Otw back I jumped off the highway, took a right and slowly started to accellerate. It was toward the top of 2nd I heard the pop, I said to my friend in the car at the time "Shit!! Thats the sound it made the 1st time the balljoint gave." So i slipped it into 3rd and granny crawled it at 20mph. No lie, two seconds later the balljoint gave again, the tire kicked sideways and the car slammed on its chassis and skid to the side of the road. Roughly a foot from the guard rail(THANK GOD). the boot came off the axle so instead of grabbing the boot kit, I said "Screw it." and got a new axle. The old one didn`t have abs, the new one does. so i put in the balljoint(what a pain in the ass that was with no shop/good tools) and the axle. I had my father help me, he`s an oldschool type of guy he had always worked on his hot rods, dirt bikes and whatever else he had. so I figured he could help me since I`ve never done axles before. So I`m hammering in the axle and he says "hold on pull that out a sec." he pulled the snap ring off the axle. i didnt know it was a key piece at the time. ANYWAY long story short. I had my local garage put the snap ring back in. but ever since the balljoint gave the second time i get a BAD vibration when i accelerate thru the top of 2nd gear, ALL the way thru 3rd till about 45-50mph then it doesn`t go away but it does smooth out a bit. I was thinking it might possibly be my clutch, I know a good deal about honda`s, JUST not enough. Now I know my allignment is off and it couldn`t hurt to get my tires balanced. But i have brought it to multiple garages (no real mechanic who knows his honda`s) and they say they can`t find anything wrong and like every garage out there they want to start somewhere and just start fixing shit. Lemme tell you i have a 1 y.o and a 2 y.o so most of my money ends up going to my kids. but the rest goes to my 3rd kid (MY DA) lol. If anyone has any input or might know whats wrong no post is a dumb one. if you feel you might know feel free to let me know. Even if someone can take a look at it that knows there way around honda`s (kinda what I`m really looking for) we can neg. your services. I live in the Naugatuck area if anyone around here may be able to help. Sorry thread is so long i just wanted to cover all aspect`s/possibilities of what might have went wrong. Thank Whoever reads/posts for your time its appreciated more than you know. THX , W.Crill$

CV transaxles aren't usually a balanced item. since they're two different lengths and contains several flexing parts and have different weights, etc. The same exact thing with a lot of two piece RWD drive shafts. happened to me about 4 years ago but the axle shattered into a bunch of scrap. Where did you get the axle from? Autozone has a life time warranty on theirs and will swap them out usually with no questions asked.
Have your tires balanced if you haven't already. Try to swap out the CV joint. Inspect your brakes on the side that fell apart.Turbo 86' 325i, 20psi of Megasquirt lovin'.
