ls swap help!!!

what's up everyone..i neeeed help with my swap. I jus swapped a 97 ls (used obd 1 alternator and dizzy) into my 88 hatch that was already wired for obd 1. now the problem is that it will only start if someone is covering the intake with their hand. once you let go it dies. it also dies when u give it gas while still covering it. I checked my plugs and I'm pretty sure evrything is in the right spot. so what would cause this???

did u plug in ur iac?

yea its plugged in. I'm bout to try to clean it right now and see if it makes a difference. any other ideas??

possibly severe vacuum leak if it runs while you are blocking the intake

thanks that's what my boy was thinking..do u have any ideas of specific hoses or jus check all of em ??? and its crack or worn out ones I'm lookn for right??

i checked all of the hoses and they all look fine and i cleaned out the iac so ill put it back in 2morro and see what happens..but other than that any other ideas???

sounds like you got a vacume leak some where

possibly have the map sensor and tps plugs backwards? Check that out. Just a guess not sure if that could do it though.
