What power could i make with pro2 or something similar. if im going to spend 300 or more on some used ctr cams i would just spend the extra money for some more power. Im just trying to get some info because my car is coming apart in the next month

you could get them all day for around 200, but it takes know how to get 200hp with them. just get the pro2 with springs to match the lift. I'm not trying to kill your hopes or anything, but you wont break into the 200s anyways with a 1.8 displacement, really hope you do your homework and proof me wrong, but 200hp don't come out of cams and pistons. Not being a jerk or nothing, just telling your the truth. I really do hope you meet your goals.

No hopes broken. my plan is jdm b18c block forged rods, 13.1 comp pistons,1 layer head gasket, shaved head, oversized high comp valves, What ever cams i pick, dualspring valve springs, titanium retainers. port and polished head ,5 angle valve job, asl bearing, arp studs, type r intake mani, bored and polished type r throttle body, hondata s300, jdm itr headers ,decat, and a 2.5 exhaust i havent picked yet. So im hoping for the 200whp.

13.1 piston + shaved head + 1 layer head gasket = race gas..

port work is not required at all. everything else seems fine.
arp studs are just a waste of money on a 200hp motor, go clubbing with that guap... hondata.. add the money from the studs and hondata and get some wheels or something.. g/l

I got faith in my boy and he'll be over 200, go wit skunk2 I like their cams

your build is fine, your compression is too much for 93oct, i wouldn't pass 12.5:1 if i was you, you will need to remove a lot of timing from the ecu in order for it to not ping. by you shaving the head you are rising compression, using a thinner head gasket gives you the same result. oversize valves on a Vtec head are a major no no, you will get more flow out of em, but you will never be able to degree the cams and place them on the sweet spot with out the valve hitting each others. So that's like taking one step forward and three steps back. do your research and look for power somewhere else besides your compression. there is about 7hp to be had just in the oil pump...

not true what??? you just said it, the right combination. 1.7 with B16 head?? B17s come with PR3 head stock... I got a B17 my self and will be building it real real soon... and trust, it will have the entire site talking, i won't even pop my hood so people could keep their hair and not pull it trying to figure out what the fuck they are witnessing. hopes yours still around by then.. we could have a little friendly competition. 11.8:1 pump gas

Here we go again.. people got to understand that all them aftermarket rods and piston only strengthen your block... there are tons of turbo B16 an B18 with 400-500hp on stock bottom ends.. what makes you think you need that on a 190hp motor?? boring a motor has only one major advantage, and is not the little 10cc displacements you gain...

by the time you need to port your head you have a really price motor on your hands.

the reason i say that setup is i know of a b18c build just like that that lays down over 200hp no need to get salty

Yea but well you have ut apart. You might as well upgrade the rods. Just for that extra security. Imo oem rods and valves are fine. I'd just do the valve train if yuor going with aftermarket cams. Put some 12:5:1 comp pistons. And you can run pump gas and be fine.
