  • B18C1 with ctr piston question

ok so this dude is tryin to sell me a teggy with a Gs-r and is has CTR pistons. now i was looking online and i saw that its gonna have stupid high compression. like so high that itll eventually pop usin 93 octane. seeing how you guys are full of knowledge i figured id ask you. im not sure if he is usin oem spec gaskets or not but what do you guys say???

they will put you at around 12.4:1 with a oem gasket. so is the head milled at all? cuz that bumps compression up a bit

i think its safe to run 93 on 12.5:1 or to be on the safe side you can us lets say like 90% gas and 10% ethanol and that gives you a higher octane rating, or E85 with is 85% ethanol and 15% gas with equals to about an octane rating of 105. i cant tell you if you gonna go boom or not but 93 should be fine for that setup. you take a risk when running a high compression engine the more compression the less your car will last like me ima be running a 15:1 compression soon and with that kind of compression i risk of blowing my motor up every time i start it.

btw i run 93 on my current set up

93 Gass will be fine. I see a lot of people doing it.

13:1 cutting it close there huh i think that's the highest you can go without switching over to a higher octane rating with a good tune of course
