I broke a crower cam shaft on the exhaust side of my turbo b16. Wiped out some valves. This was 2 years ago. Put in the stock cams and never had a problem. I called Brian Crower, he would only give me half off a new set. Stock was free. I figured if I want more power just turn up the boost.http://www.d-gauto.com/

normally when cams break it's because someone tries to put the distributor on with the tangs in 180 deg out of phase(upsidedown) or someone at some point used an impact gun to get the cam gear bolt off.
NEVER EVER EVER LET ANYONE touch your cam gear bolts with any air or impact tools. These chilled cast cores are very brittle. I have also seen valve float cause the cams to break, thats when they rev them too high and the rocker arm slaps the camshaft to hard when it floated. 90% of them are related to someoe using an air tool on the cam gear bolt at some point. Also over tightening of the cam caps can cause the came to semi seize and slow down enough for the timming belt to try to drag the cam until it snaps.
I bet this guy had his dist off at some point recently though or his cam gears.
give us some more history of the recent work on it buddy, then we can try to help some more,

They broke into my car and fkd up my ignition. I was still able 2 drive it even after that. I went 2 go start it 1 day and and I had no power wat so ever. The only thing I could do was turn my lights on. Nothing on the dash board worked. she wouldn't try 2 crank or nothn. so I changed the dizzy and the coil still nothing. And then I found a blown fuse so I changed that. Now she wants 2 turn over but she won't. So then I took off the valve cover gasket and found that my cam was split. I do have a bad oil leak from the valve cover gasket so I was thinkn that there wasn't enough lubrication so a valve may have seized up and caused the cam 2 break. I just need my baby runing again. Haven't drove her n 2 weeks!
