lol, a gsr and type r have the same stroke and bore, therefore the same displacement, a gsr with a type r crank is a gsr. the itr had different rods, which would be an upgrade over stock but you will not make a gsr a 2.0 without stroking it or boring it to 84mm. you can use an ls crank and rods if you remove the oil squirters in the block but that will make it a slightly higher displacement 1.8. if you want a 2 liter gsr without a stroker you need to sleeve the gsr and bore it to 84mm or you could get a b20 block.
i just re-read what you asked and if you want to change the stroke of the engine you must also change the rod length, which is why strokers come as a kit. you cannot simply change your crank and leave everything else the same under any circumstances.Last edited by roe; 08-13-2009, 01:00 PM.

and the increase is barely anything, a gsr/type r is 1797 cc, a ls is 1834 cc. thats a whopping 3 tenths of a liter! not worth it if you hae to go out and buy all the ls parts, maybe if you had them already.
here....i feel like being nice today eagle part number 1837401890 is a 95mm stroke crank (gsr is 87) uses H22 size rods so you can use oem h22 rods or eagle/crower whatever h22 rods and whatever bore you want depending on block application. you will prbaly need the block notched and shit for a stroke this long and definitely need the oil squirters removed, this is gonna be the most cost effective method though, as you can use oem pistons and oem h22 rods and the stroker crank. the crank is about 600 plus shipping and the pistons and rods depend on what you want.
maybe someone whos acutally assembled a stroked b18 can chime in on block clearacing/notching etc etc since i have never assembled one myself
i dont feel like calculating displacement but it should make a b18 about a 2 liter an a b20 about a 2.1/2.2Last edited by roe; 08-13-2009, 04:49 PM.
