  • How bout them VAFCs?

Hey, i got an extra VAFC chillin at my house and i was wondering if i should put it in or not. Ive been hesitant to install it because ive heard that they advance the timing by 5 degrees just by having it hooked up. This sounds completely retarded because such an advance would cook a honda engine over time. I need to know if the VAFC will actually advance the timing or not just by hooking it up. (for reference i have a jdm gsr and a VAFC1)

it will not modify timing until you make changes to your fuel table. Best option is to find someone to tune your engine properly or keep the stock computer. no generic chips.

Those things are junk anyway. They don't modify the fuel table at all. They alter the MAP sensor return voltage to trick the ECU into adding more fuel. They are a waste of time and money, they just look pretty.
