  • engine code/slight problem

i have a 2000 integra gsr motor and it keeps throwing a code and i don't know what it is.

    Manufacture controlled air/ fuel malfunction.

aslo when i am driving on the high way for a per. of time and my car is at a constant rpm i go to down shift and get on it it only revs up to 6200 rpms like there is a rev limiter and i don't know what that is either.

its a limp mode caused by the ecu getting a bad signal. check your code, dont use a scan tool just jump the two pin harness above the ecu and count how many flashes, then lmk

It sounds like a bad O2 sensor, but since you have a 97? it's OBDII, which uses 2 O2 sensors.

1st question, are you using a stock computer?

2nd, did you have the CEL on when you put the motor in, or did it just started happening?

your rite, a simple way to see if it is the o2 is just unplug it and take it for a ride, reset the ecu first

You are going to have to get the codes, just go outsite, take out the kick panel on the passanger side, take the 2 wire connector, jump it, read the code (flashes) and post it here, then we can better give you better advise on how to fix it.

One question, did you plug in your IAT (intake air temperature seonsor) the right way?

U know, your best bet would be to tune the car.

That will not give a shorter rev limit

no but no knock equals retarded timing which equals no power which means fix it. check your ground on the trans and the tstat housing. if not bring me the car and ill fix it. ask anyone lol

map sensor coolant temp sensor, vtec pressure sensor, are all codes that will give you a shorter rev limit. also bad igniter. knock sensor will give you a hesitation, not limiter.

i was just thinking about tricking the knock sensor so it wont throw a code anymore.
