  • Charing system problem*help

    Its a 97 honda civic hatch with a 1999 gsr motor 98 ex wire harness

    brand new battery + alternator

    static voltage when car is on is only at 12 max and decrease. (alternator not working but test alternator and it is good)

    Im thinking a short to ground maybe but when i test voltage at alternator its only 12 max and decreasing also.

    Any help would help thanks

    try grinding the brackets making then shiny again also try putting a ground wire from the top bolt between the alt and the bracket to the chassi if that dosent work then theres a lot of other things it could be i went thru every single one

        Make sure to check the batt cables for corrosion. I've seen a few hondas at work where the inside of the cables were all green and corroded. GL

          yo check your 80/100amp fuse in your fuse box...had a swap gime me so charging issues and went to replaces the alternator...eveything was good then i check the BAT fuse in the underhood fuse panle..it was blown.... the grounds would be my next guess. the ground side of the chargin system is as importan as the power side...
          also your ELD (electric load detector) could be shorted too...
