  • Broken Tranny Bolt!?

UPDATE!!!! TRIED TO BRING MY CAR TO A SHOP TO REMOVE THE snapped bolts but i drove off a curb and landed on my linkage where it bolts in to the tranny so it chipped and i cant use the case im looking to buy a tranny asap lmk

so i was driving and my motor started to feel like it was rocking then i hear a snap and metal hitting the floor so i stop look on the ground and i see 2 snaped bolts that go threw the rear t bracket into the tranny so i go home jack the car up remove the rear t bracket only to find that the thread from both bolts are stuck in the holes!!! i have an drill bit and extractor kit so im guessing i have to use it but the swap is still in the car.. idk if ima have enough room to remove em..... anyone have any ideas on how to get em out?? need help ASAPl

It will probably save you a few bloody knuckles, a lot of stress, and maybe even some time to just pull the trans out. I was trying to install my trans without pulling out all the motor mounts and it just made it a fight the entire way. When you get it out you can also dremel the tops flat and even heat them up if they are being a ***************. I think it will be really hard to do all that with it in the car...when you say thread you mean the heads broke off the bolts, correct?

are they snapped inside the threads or flush to the tranny

u could try welding a nut on to the threads nd turning them out w/ a wrench or socket
