  • 2000DX--> B16B type R

    So were putting a b16b type r into a 2000 DX. Not quite sure what i have to do for the 2 wire idle switch, and if it needs to be re pinned at the ECU. Thats not my main problem though. Throwing a ignition code. I obviously had to re pin the distribitor plug because the DX plug wont fit on the type r distribitor. Put each respecting color wire to the same on the new plug. Car miss fires and runs like crap. Also, do i need to use a VTEC solinoid with pressure switch, or is the type r single wire going to work with a P28?? Or should i run the car with the CTR ECU? Suggestions, answers? Im more of a mitsubishi guy, and we just started getting into hondas. This is my personal car we figured we would try ot out on. If you got any input let me know. Or call me at 860282RACE or my cell 8609445449. Help on this would be much appriciated. Trying to get the car up and running tonight. Thanks guys

          u can use a p28 with the obd2b to obd1 jumper since it wont look for knock or crank sensor..i would just use a 00 si/ex harness since its wired up for vtec and it will work fine with the iacv..i have a 00 si harness for $100 Firm if anything,,u can use the ctr with a jumper if its obd1 or use it as is if its a obd2 but u might have to do some research on ff-squad.com.....i would recomend a p28 with jumper and a 00 ex/si harness and then chip your ecu and get a TUNE..g/l

            thanks guys... used the DX harness with my P28... Was just the distributor... Beleive it or not, i wired everything down to the idle control correctly. Car drives like bran new. Made 170 to the ground on are dyno. Possibly looking to put intake manifold and throttle body on and maybe pro 1 cams and go for 190. Also debating doing rods and pistons and cosmetic head gasket and running 10 lbs boost for 300HP... Who knows, but car runs great, pulls pretty good with the LSD tranny.

                          I'd just do rod bolts and head studs with an OEM gasket and boost it if you want 300hp. There's no sense in replacing anything if that's all you want. I built a lower compression B16 and the difference between that and the stock block was a lot with the exact same turbo set up.
                          Turbo 86' 325i, 20psi of Megasquirt lovin'.
