i was wondering if there is anything but the sticker on the tranny that will tell me what i have?

yeah, but if you look at the chart things start getting confusing. s80 and y80 are the codes for both gsr and ls tranny's. the only other way to identify it is by choosing a gear and rotating the input shaft while counting the turns on the diff
