  • B18c 6500rpm rev limit

Hey, i just took out the old usdm gsr in my civic and swapped it with a jdm gsr. I used the wiring harness and ecu from the usdm engine. Right now the engine starts and runs fine but its not nearly as fast as it should be and it hits a rev limiter at 6500rpm. Also, i only have one wire going into my vtec (its green and yellow which is supposd to be ground) and there is no oil pressure switch for the vtec solenoid, yet it cracks vtec very loudly. I dont even see how its possible. My only explenation is that i have a vtec controller and maybe thats making the vtec crack. Basically i just need to know if i need to swap the vtec solenoid from my old car, or if it will be fine like this. (on a side note, both engines are obd2)

just swap the solenoids......your ecu is reading no oil pressure so it puts the car into sort of like a limp mode, just like if your low on oil (usdm ecu's) you can either run the jdm ecu or change the solenoid
