LS clutch problem

ok so when i got my car it had a stage 2 clutch in it grabbed real good never had a problem with it until recently now it still feels like it grabes good but everytime i downshift i hear this little squeaky noise and then when i stop all i can smell is clutch and somtimes it even produces smoke i was thinkin i streched my clutch cable or it's loose and it needs to be tightend someone help oo yeah it's got a ys1 tranny if that changes anything

bump need some help tightend the clutch cable a little bit and it's not as bad but feels mad funny in the pedal and i don't think the car is as fast as it was

did you break the clutch in?? I had a similar problem with my subaru, it was a faulty clutch disk...smoked the clutch after like 5000 miles!!!

i don't know i got the car with the clutch in it and it always seemed to be fine till now tightend the clutch cable and it dosn't smoke as much but i can still smell it and i don't want to tighten it to much and snap the cable

Stage 2 clutches have a mutch shorter life span then a stock OEM clutch. If this is a clutch that has been beat on by more than 1 owner, then you probably need a new clutch

yea and also when you put a new clutch in and you dont break it in the clutch is bound to blow in a matter of time

had that problem 2 try a new clutch cable

what kinda car?
if its a EF then see if your pedal assebly is bent. its a common problem in them. and replacin it is a ***************! lol
