  • need sub wiring let me know

me and my boy do a good clean job wiring shit up, so if you want something wired up for cheap lmk. you can look at my boys set up and see how we ran it if you wana see our work. cheap too. WE DONT DRILL HOLES IN FIREWALL, we go through preexisting spots. if we need to we get a plug to put the wire through and plug the hole LEGITLY

we are on the shoreline. so lmk if you need stuff done.

not to be an a$$ but holes in firewalls are the correct way of doing it, but with a grommit. pre-existing holes are good if they are not there for something else. i have seen car fires started because the power wire was severed from being ran next to the knuckle on the steering column. then the installer was held liable. do you know about ground loops? signal interference from factory wiring? not saying your work is not good. it might even be better than best buy. they don't require installers to be MECP certified. but after reading your post i wouldnt want you to touch my car. if i sound like an ass i really dont mean to. but i take that stuff seriously.
i made a pixelcar for my sig but i'm too lazy to pm a moderator.

we stay away from the driver side to completely stay away from those moving components.

and by preexisting holes, i mean holes that have plugs. where we put a small hole through the plug and then put the wire through the plug. (small hole so the wire is bigger, and so water doesnt get in)

and if your comparing me to best buy thats pretty pathetic you trust people who work for a store, and get paid shit to put peoples in cars. at least compare me to a actual shop, the specifically does this type of stuff. and like i said before you can look at the shit we have done, and then make your choice. only issue we ever had was a cheap wire shorting out (wasn't our system, someone came to us and had us use stuff they already had even though we suggested it was shitty wiring).

and i completely forgot that i even posted this thread lol.

First thing is first. U cannot offer any type of services without being a vendor/sponsor/amm.u have to pay admin for u to become a vendor.he will ban u if u decide not to follow rules.not talking shit but just letting u know ahead of time.I use to work for best buy as a installer and I take pride on every single install that I did at best buy.I never rigged up anything and I learned alot .everyday I learned something new.I never had to make a hole on anyone's firewall. That's just plain dumb. I think admin will charge u anywhere from 40-60 per month and he will want 3 months in advance

okay this whole thing was me just throwing out the fact that me and my friend do a good job, and if anyone wanted something done for CHEAP to let me know thats all. i was not talking down on anyone or anything like that. sorry if you took what i said that way jdmdikk

i wasnt putting this up to try and start a little side job buisness like. just putting the word out there.

and like i said before i was not trying to step on any vendors toes.
to add to that not any shops either.

so for everyone attacking me for posting this so long ago and its just starting. admins can lock/delete do what ever they want with this thread.

i was just throwing the word out there that me and my friend do a good clean job when wiring things up. so thats it.

I understand but what u dont seem to understand is that when u say"I can do your install and I can do this and that,u are basically offering what is called "service".so let's say I make a thread telling people that I can do alarms, remote started, audio installs, etc. That's me promoting my services which then admin will get on my back for since I am not paying him for promoting on his site. Get it?

I wasn't trying to say all best buy installer are a hack. I have a friend who worked there for a while and he went to school in jersey for mobile electronics. But from my experience and his, the standards of best buy as a company as of probably 3 years ago were almost completely unacceptable. The firewall drilling subject..... controversial... it is what they teach you to do. It is mostly at the discretion of the installer. I don't do it if I don't have to. I don't do much of that stiff anymore at all really. But I have done a lot in the past.including dealing with Chevy's ridiculous RDS system where you can't take out the factory radio without messing up a whole bunch of other things (like your air bags). I wasn't trying to bash anyone just trying to warn about offering these types of services. But I do think I got off track a little in my original post.

Lol, drilling thru the firewall isnt a hack. Most existing grommets arent going to let you add 0 gauge wire to it plus ylou are increasing your chances of electronic frequency interference, not forgetting while you are hacking up an existing grommet with wiring already going thru it, you could damagethe existing wiring. I drill holes, add grommets and or silicone sealant.

when best buy starts installing real systems using 0/1 youll have to drill holes, fyi.
