Maybe your amp doesn't have near enough power to pump that sub? Just my .02Hidin' out

recheck the wiring u might have it backwards or it might not be wired all the way like a loose wire where its got power but doesnt have the full power to push it...the sub to the box im talkin bout not amp..it happened to my brother once we checked it and found thats the problem...im real good with systems and if it was blown u would hear some paper poppin sound from it...hope this helps if not i would bring it to an audio shopCT 8thgen civic
