  • ground wire question

i noticed when upgrading my wires that the stock negative ground goes from the battery to the chassis and then to the transmission .do i have to follow this path or can i ground directly to the transmission . im asking because the wire kit i bought is one peice . also can i go from the battery to the transmission and then to the chassis in that order does it make any difference ????

shouldnt matter where you ground it out.
    a ground is a ground.

sometimes what i do is take a brillo pad or light sand paper n scrub off some of the rust, dirt, nasty stuff that might interupt the ground b4 i wire it in. it jst ensures ul have a better ground connection. but like the guys on here said already, a ground is a ground. ther shouldnt b any difference no matter the sequence.

For best grounding, the chassis HAS to be the Main/Primary Ground off of the Battery. There are numerous grounds bolted to the body all over the car which require a Good, non resisted ground.

do not ground it straight from the batt to the transmission. My car was the same way and when I up graded the wires I went from the batt to the chassis and the used a another wire from the tranny to the chassis in a different spot
