  • ITR Cams On Stock Valvetrain. Input?

What are your inputs on running ITR cams on stock gsr valvetrain? While keeping the stock rev limiter.

Just wanna hear what people have to say about this. If you don't know. Then don't respond.

    Thanks.

itr's are great for mid range power thats is why there so loved for daily driver setups but they are a decently lobed cam vs a stock gsr i wouldnt personaly runn them on stock gsr valve springs theres a reason y honda stiffed the springs on the itr's.. you say stock rev limiter but honestly even a quick down shift can drop a valve at least do itr outer springs... just my .2 cents... dnt do it lol u will eventually float a valve the lift and duration is alot more then gsr. i was in same dilemma... did u kno the skunk2 stage 1 tuner series and type r cams are exact same spet the vtec lobes on the skunk2 are slighty bigger ;)

should only have the chance of floating a valve if hes constantly at high rpm's/
cant really float a valve driving normal.

I did it for a year on my very first vtec setup sometimes hitting 9k rpm( eBay chip without rev limiter.my first setup and I was much younger lol) no probs at all then I sold it and it still ran great.

                  Good luck

sure if i granny my car to it will never break but why drive like a bitch

i was also planning on running big boost w them so my chances are higher but why cut corners just do it right supertech is 300$ for springs and retainers

yea i got mine like that i have a gsr head with the itr cams i just found out 100% that thats what i got in it after gussing, couse i had alil probb with adjusting the the valves it will always tick at hight rpm wean im babbying it, but wean i step on the gas it gos away. but yea if your useing the itr cams i would upgrade the valve spring to the itr valve springs as well couse the actually needs them for the hight rev, i have them in mine but they only did the intake side nd leaft out the ex side. nd what had happen is the vtec spring valve in side the head under the lifters in between the two valves "dont whats its really called",but it had fukked them upp thats wear my tickking was commin from the lil springs in side that lifter was shot they will stick nd u dont want that to happen they should be free no stickking..so i changed mine put new ones nd putted new ex itr dule valve spring in as well so now im good,"just got to put swap back in tha ej8"lol..but hey i hope every thing works out for the best for u glwb
