I have a program that graphs exceleration over time which calculates a pretty close torque curve. The torque numbers aren't exact due to wind resistance and other variables, but its useful for showing gains.

gear ratio and weight are the main and extremely important variables that people usually cannot calculate. I want to test a gtech pro or the belltronics unit versus various dyno's. I don't know if it has been done recently

You do not need to incorperate weight or gearing if you are doing a baseline and a final line as weight and gear ratios are constant, the numbers are useless alone, they are only used to show gains or loses in power.

well... for a graphed chart anyways.

PS, calculating gear ratios isn't that difficult, if yo do a pull in fourth and your 4th gear ratio is 1.13 and you made a graphed 235 wtq.

            you can set up a proportion 1.13/235 = 1/x

What inputs does this program have for variables? I HIGHLY doubt the viability of such a program without having some extremely detailed inputs. Plus what dave means is that an engine torque curve is only one peice of making a car go fast. Everything needs to work together or you're wasting effeciency.
I would nix any truth of a transient response program, its far too complicated to throw into a simple program without it being thousands of dollars and run by a supercomputer.
              WTF?! Racing.

Like i said, the torque curve numbers ARE NOT ACCURATE, but they are consistant, regardless of what numbers you end up with, your looking for gains.

The program uses and exported spread sheet from kpro, to graph acceleration over time with certain smoothing factors.

Its not even an issue that Tom knows a think or two about Hondas. The simple fact is he is a man that most of the younger kids were dying to meet in the late 90's and start of the 2000's. Simply to pick his brain and maybe learn a thing or two. I for one never passed out his number without even consulting him first. Again the simple fact is kids would ask for it none stop. That has to be a pretty strong statement to his credit on honda knowledge. We can all learn A LOT from Tom but thats not a open invite to slam him with questions. We/I am very thankful for everything that he has helped me with, no need to go into details it would be a long list. So again thanks Tom for EVERYTHING that you do in the Honda community and out of the love for the hobbie. We need more guys like you now a days.

i can second the above post.. listen to tbone.. he had a damn good teacher!.. and most people have no idea about the correct way to build a motor. weather it be n/a or turbo/ super/ n20 etc.. everythign needs to be done properly if it is going to work and last. i have built more of these motors than many of you have probally ever seen. and the differnce between a motor "put " together and one that has been assembled is huge...
and for you turbo guys on here that are nervous that a n/a car will run with or even beat your turbo set up.. you need to understand exactly what it takes to make a n/a motor run that strong and be reliable... its not something that happens by accident...the white civic has a lot of time into it to make it run the way it did, and that was several years ago ... you need to give tom his credit

I'm In for all Motor for sure. It just takes time building an all motor and doing it correctly.
