Feeler: D16Z6/S20 swap asking $950

I'm pulling a D16Z6 and S20 trans out of my 1992 Si in about two weeks.

Selling:

D16Z6 long block with all accessories
Reman S20 Transmission
New Exedy OEM clutch and flywheel

$950 for everything

Located in Greenwich, CT



Long Version:

The transmission is a newly remanufactured unit with about 2500 miles on it. It has all new seals, bearings, synchros, etc. There are no grinds or pop-outs. This is a perfect transmission that is ready for a couple hundred thousand miles.

Comes with a brand new Exedy OEM replacement clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, etc. 2500 miles on the new clutch, works perfectly, barely broken in.

Motor is the original D16Z6 single cam VTEC that came in my 1992 Si, and is a complete long block with all the accessories. It has 230k miles on it, but runs like a champ. I honestly feel bad taking this motor out of the car, because it just runs so solidly. Only issues are that it smokes a tiny bit after about 6500rpm because the valves seals are starting to go. I can include your choice of new Viton or J.I.S. valve seals for you to install if you'd like. I will also include a brand new eBay header for the motor, new plugs, wires, assorted gaskets, new gates timing belt, water pump, tensioner, etc. Don't let the mileage scare you, some valve seals and maybe a re-ring, and this thing has another quarter million miles in it.

You can't even buy a rebuild kit for an S20 for $150, let alone an entire new transmission.

Sure, a used, beat up SOHC trans is $150. I have one of those too if that's what you want to buy from me.

A new remanufactured S20 transmission retails for $450.

I know this is my fault, CTVTEC is used to people selling distressed junk, not quality parts.

A motor with 230k, that burns oil and needs new valve seals and rings may as well be considered junk. Best bet is try to sell the trans seperate to someone with a single cam on honda-tech and hope for the best. It's not even people being "broke bum bitches". But people know what stuff is worth. Your asking more then a whole 92 si kbb is just for the swap. On here it's def not gonna sell. But best of luck to you.
